Orange22 Botanist Blank Canvas During ICFF

As the design industry prepares for New York's International Contemporary Furniture Fair, furniture junkies lament on how no fresh jams actually hit the streets for another six months. But Orange22 is offering an opportunity to walk away with new pieces from the likes of Milton Glaser, Karim Rashid and Yves Behar. The second, annual Botanist Blank Canvas Project takes a sleek and sustainable starting point, then asks each of eight participants to take it home, so to speak. But you can literally take it home, provided, of course, you can outbid the crowd on May 18th as the Chelsea Art Museum hosts a designer signing and silent auction from 9 to 11 pm. Proceeds benefit eight different nonprofits as chosen by the respective designers but space is by invitation only. See all the designers and their charities. Renderings are available to view but the final pieces won't be revealed until next week. Shown here, a design from Massimo and Lella Vignelli to benefit Rochester Institute of Technology
