The five bath produces of Tom Ford For Men Ancillary Collection—soap bar shower gel, moisturizer and two after shaves, no word yet on a Fordian spray on stubble—are really just about extending the smell of his first fragrance, Tom Ford For Men, further into daily life. It's been rolling out to department stores nationwide since mid-March. Mixing oil based fragrance with water based moisturizers requires some speciality formulations but, thankfully, not much in the way of oily residues. The incorporation is clean and tastefully diffused, especially with the classic, aftershave splash; the aftershave balm is more of a cream product; and the body wash is a clear gel. But the slepper hit could be a carmel colored, cleasing bar with shea butter and activated charcoal for its soft, exfoliating property; plus it's the most accessibly priced item to bear the Tom Ford name.
